I have hunted with Lance for the past four years and have enjoyed every hunt we went on. I have hunted ducks and geese for over 37 years all over South Louisiana and cannot think of one trip that was any better then the hunts with Lance. The first thing you notice is the work ethic that he displays and the amount of effort Lance puts out to make your hunt an enjoyable one. He will take you where the birds are due to his daily scouting and quality property. We never have gone to a blind hoping the birds would show up. We know through his hard work we are going to a quality managed property. To show my appreciation for how hard Lance works for me and my guys I took him to shoot an axis deer at the 777 ranch. I hope to make many more sunrises in a duck blind or goose field with Lance.

Thanks to Lance Stancik of Backwater Waterfowl & Retrievers, my 1 year old Lab, Prince, will be a great hunting partner this season. At 7 weeks of age, Prince enrolled in Lance’s “Head Start” program for a period of six weeks, during which he was introduced to house, water, gun and feather. Prince returned for formal retriever training at age 6 months; he is now steady to shot, good at blinds and doubles. Lance bonds quickly with his trainees, who respond enthusiastically to his methods. Lance is a great waterfowl hunter and expert guide who takes excellent care of his clients. Prince and I are looking forward to another great hunting season with him in 2009-10.

I have been hunting with Lance for about 5 seasons now and I can tell you he is the real deal. I have had the good fortune of going on an array of guided hunts over the last 14 years, some great, and some not so great. When it comes to waterfowl hunting as many of you know the difference in a good hunt and a bad hunt is preparation. Lance Stancik and his guides work hard as anyone to ensure their clients success. Through hours a day scouting and attention to detail in the spread Lance makes sure he maximizes his clients opportunity to have a good shoot.

In addition to being a first class guide and outfitter, Lance is also a good down to earth person that loves the outdoors and is truly a pleasure to be around. I personally will continue hunting with Lance as long as he is guiding. If you want to gamble with your hunting, time book someone else. The 2008/2009 season was my first season the hunt with Lance and Backwater Waterfowl. However, it was by far the most memorable to date.

Not only is Lance an extremely professional and experienced guide and outfitter, he is a great guy to hunt with. It’s really like hunting with a good friend and not just someone taking you out to take some shots at some birds and make a few bucks. On top of this, Lance is always exceptionally prepared in the field with high quality equipment.

Overall I can say that Lance is the best guide my family and I have hunted with, period. His dedication to successful hunting never stops whether it is making sure he has access to the best land in the region, or scouting his current property during the season knowing exactly what the birds are doing and when. He never stops pursuing his goal for a perfect outing for his clients.

As I said before, the 2008/2009 season was my first to hunt with Lance but the outstanding hunts and lifelong memories made during that time have made sure that when I look for a guided hunt I’ll always be sure to go with Lance.
