DUCK DUCK … GOOSE | Hunting in Texas
If there is one thing that can be said about this particular season is that it was the year of the duck. Our duck numbers have been overflowing all season and the numbers just keep building as the season starts winding down. On a normal year Backwater Waterfowl consistently watches as the season draws to a close, the bird numbers start fluctuating in a downward spiral; however this is one of those special years where we don’t want to see it end. We have 11 days of duck season left and if there was a time to come duck hunting, THE TIME IS NOW. We have openings starting Friday, January 20th and running till the last day January 29th. Don’t miss out on the opportunity that is being presented and take full advantage while you can. With all of that said comes an end of the season special – All hunts will be discounted 10% for all hunts booked through January 29th. I hope that everyone has had a safe and successful season so far and we look forward to seeing you out in the field.
On a side note, the conservation snow goose order starts Monday January 30th and while our light goose numbers are down a little there will be some great opportunities for anyone looking to get in a late goose hunt.

Last Minute Dove Hunt with Backwater
LAST MINUTE DOVE HUNT for Backwater Waterfowlers Back in from Canada with nothing but great things to report on the hatch and what we have to look forward to this winter. Did a little scouting checking water on the properties and am glad to report the doves seemed to have moved in. I have a 150 acre Sesame Patch west of Garwood, Texas that is loaded with mourning dove. I know I have had alot of interest in people wanting to dove hunt the last couple weeks. With the outlook being dismal we have held off but not anymore. This last front has started what will hopefully turn into a grand passage for the next couple of months. I have Saturday and Sunday the 22 & 23rd open as well as all of next week. Anyone wanting to get in a dove hunt this weekend call or email and we can get you set up.
